The Marie Hasse Memorial Scholarship

In December, 2024, the Bach Festival of Central Florida experienced the tragic loss of long-time chorus member, accompanist and Board member Marie Hasse following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. In addition to Marie's decades-long membership in the Bach Festival, she was a highly regarded Bach scholar and a well-loved piano teacher in eastern Polk County. Over nearly six decades of teaching, Marie's students consistently performed at the highest level in regional and state competitions. In considering how best to honor Marie and her long legacy of sharing the music of Bach with generations of her students, our Board of Directors established the Marie Hasse Memorial Scholarship to provide stipends for deserving high school and college singers to sing with the Bach Festival Chorus. Donations to this fund are appreciated and can be made through any of the means by which the Bach Festival receives contributions.
